How can I convince my parents to let me get gynecomastia removal surgery?

ladies man asked:

I’ve had hormonal gynecomastia since I was 10 and I’m 17 now, and I’ve seen no improvement. I tried asking my parents to let me have surgery for it but they just laughed at me. How can I convince them?

All you can do is let them know you are totally serious. Do you have health insurance and would it cover it?
If this does not work at least you will be 18 next year. Start saving up money now.

Why not just wait a year and then you don’t need their permission since you’ll be an adult? Or are you wanting them to pay for it? They may not have the money.
